Nevada Drivers: Effect of New York Traffic Ticket Convictions

If you receive a traffic conviction in New York State, Nevada will be notified of the offense as both states are members of the Driver License Compact.
While out-of-state convictions will become part of your Nevada driving record, the convictions do not generate demerit points on your Nevada driving record.

Most importantly, it is likely your insurance company will learn of your New York conviction and may increase your premiums or drop coverage. It remains important to mitigate the charge as much as possible.
