Missouri Drivers: Effect of New York Traffic Ticket Convictions

by Seth Azria on 4/12/2020
Syracuse, NY Traffic Lawyer Represents Missouri drivers charged with speeding and other traffic tickets

Missouri Adds New York convictions to Missouri Records

Missouri and New York are both members of the driver license compact and so they share information about traffic convictions.  If Missouri receives information that one of its drivers received a point-assessable violation in another state, Missouri will add the conviction as dictated by Missouri’s violation conviction code

Missourians Should Treat New York Traffic Tickets as if Received in Missouri

  1. Missouri, will add the NY conviction to the Missouri driving record.
  2. All drivers, regardless of the state that issued their license, who are ticketed in New York are subject to New York’s driver responsibility law that requires payment from any driver who accrues 6 or more points in any 18 month period. One speeding ticket 21mph over the limit is 6 points. And,
  3. It is likely a Missouri insurance carrier will learn of the conviction and might raise premiums or drop coverage.

Seth is a good lawyer

Seth and his team helped me out with a speeding ticket I got in Cortland. He was professional and courteous. I spoke with him with-in a hour of leaving a message with his office. All future correspondence was via email, but he was available by phone. I worked with one of his staff members as well. My 31 mph over limit (6 pts) was reduced to non-speeding 2 pts fine. I highly recommend Seth and the Azria Law Firm.

Excellent working with Seth...Seth assisted us with navigating the court system in NY state. The speeding ticket had no information and the city's documentation was too complicated and obscure for us to comprehend. Our case was concluded very much to our satisfaction. I highly recommend Seth to anyone who receives a speeding ticket in NY.

They were able to reduce 11 points down to nothing and I didn’t have to pay as much as I thought. I would definitely recommend them, as well as utilize their services again.
Excellent Lawyer

My job requires me to have a clean driving record. I recently received a ticket in Hancock township and hired Seth. He was able to get the ticket reduced to a non moving violation so no points on my license. Excellent attorney, very responsive and great staff. I highly recommend him.
