Restoring a Revoked New York Driving License

Restore Your License Online at the NY DMV
If your New York driving license has been revoked and you have served the full revocation period it may be restored using the NY DMV website. To be restored, you must apply to the DMV for a new driver license or privilege.
The use of the online services requires that you set up your MyDMV account at the New York State DMV.
Request Approval from the Driver Improvement Unit (DIU)
You may request approval online at the DMV and the system will automatically determine if you are eligible. If you are eligible for approval the site can issue that approval immediately online.
Once approved for restoration you may be required to pay a re-application fee.
The fee is:
- $25 if you apply to restore your NYS driving privilege as an out-of-state driver, and you do not intend to apply for a NYS driver license.
- $50 if you want to apply for a NYS driver license and your license was revoked before July 6, 2009.
- $100 if you want to apply for a NYS driver license and your license was revoked on or after July 6, 2009.
For more information see the New York DMV at: http://www.dmv.ny.gov/restore.htm.
